A member of the Classic British Hotels collection, Wyck Hill House Hotel & Spa is a 4-star property that has an AA-Rosette-awarded restaurant, a sumptuous spa and a heated cigar terrace. Behind the Cotswold stone exterior, its period features include an oak-panelled library, a grand staircase, open log fires and an impressive front hall.

The hotel is "ideally positioned", according to The AA, five minutes' drive from Stow-on-the-Wold. This ancient town has a historic market square and a Grade I-listed Norman-era church, and is known for its antique shops. It also holds a farmers' market on the second Thursday of each month. The market towns of Moreton-in-Marsh and Chipping Norton are less than 20 minutes' drive from the hotel, and Cheltenham Racecourse, Oxford and Stratford-upon-Avon are all within 50 minutes' drive.

The hotel's "excellent" (The Daily Telegraph) conservatory restaurant has views of the estate and holds an AA Rosette for its modern British food. There's also a cosy bar and several public lounge areas. The spa has six therapy rooms and an extensive treatment menu.

The hotel's 55 bedrooms are in the main house, the Orangery and the coach house, and are all generous in size.

Garden Rooms are in the modern extension of the manor house -- please note that not all of these rooms have garden views and they are spread across four floors.

Wi-Fi is free although the signal can be limited in some parts of the hotel.

The hotel is grubby.... poorly maintained, old and chipped furniture, threadbare carpets, mould and damp on walls in some corridors, bedroom was large but dirty....dust and general build up of grime on skirting boards and walls, bathroom floor filthy. Overpriced drinks, and price supplements on almost every menu choice. Most Staff indifferent and unfriendly. We left after the first night. Extremely disappointed, I’m suprised travel zoo wish to be associated with this place.

My husband and I enjoyed our one night stay at this hotel (enroute back to Dorset from Cheshire, where we had been to a family party). The room was a good size, with large bathroom, but hotel generally was rather shabby in places and corridors needed a good hoover! The food and service in the main restaurant for both dinner and breakfast was very good though.

We went to the 'spa' area whilst staying here, but felt this area was rather basic and definitely not luxurious!

Great Stately House, in beautiful surrounding. Yes, it's a bit worn around the edges, but this is to be expected given the age of the building. We staying in the 'new' extension, turns out to be 16 years old, so our room was probably 'fresher', decorative wise, than others, but the shower unit was a little 'volitile' when it came to setting the heat, but this is nit-picking, all good room wise. Food was great, best quality breakfast I've ever had, and I've had a few breakfasts in my 58 years. I said I wouldnt go back, but that's not a reflection in the hotel, just something I prefer not to do as there are so many places yet to explore. So long as you're not too critical about the odd squeeky floorboard and chipped bit of paint, you should enjoy Wyck Hill.
