Overview

The charming coastal town of Tiburon is nestled on a peninsula across the bay from San Francisco. The Lodge at Tiburon sits at the edge of the peninsula, within walking distance of the delightfully preserved Gold Rush town boasting picturesque San Francisco skyline views from its pier.

A block from historic Main Street, the modern resort-style lodge is furnished with dark woods and cozy fireplace nooks behind stone pillars, giving off the ambiance of a ski chalet tucked into the mountains. Guests enjoy the scenic surroundings year-round from the poolside fire pit and the SkyDeck’s fireplace.

Stay connected with complimentary Wi-Fi throughout the resort. Calming earth and ocean tones embellish the rooms and suites. Most guest rooms include private balconies, offering mountain views and bay breezes.

Tiburon Tavern serves fresh, local cuisine and features the area’s only self-service wine bar. The famed Sam’s Anchor Café, serving seafood with Golden Gate Bridge views, as well as Ark Row restaurants and boutiques are within walking distance of the hotel.

Tiburon is 15 minutes north of the Golden Gate Bridge and 20 minutes by car from downtown San Francisco. Guests can park in the hotel’s complimentary, private lot and take the ferry to Pier 41 in 40 minutes. The wineries of Sonoma and Napa as well as the redwood forest of Muir Woods are a short drive from the hotel.

From the press:
  • "The Lodge at Tiburon has the feel of a winter ski chalet, though the outdoor pool and its cabanas provide a summery counterpoint. Despite the incongruity, the feeling here is one of comfort" -- Fodor's

Dont charge for in room water. It cheapens the experience. Keep it classy.

Liked the town and the room was clean with comfortable bed.
Other Comments
The hotel is really a work in progress. The halls were stained and marred with old extremely stained carpets. Furthermore, they were dark with cement stairs. It felt dangerous to go out after dark. There was only one small elevator that was very old and worn. The one ice machine was on the middle floor and I would not go out at night so couldn't get ice after dark. The parking lot was not covered and was dark as well. We were warned to not leave anything in our car. The room was clean but lacked usual amenities like bottle opener, shower cap, and luggage rack. The key to the room did not work consistently and we had to walk to desk to get help after a long day out. The cost was too high for the condition on the property and they charge a resort fee but don't have resort amenities. Definitely not going to return!

The service was wonderful and I loved that we got a swag bag when we checked in (complete with a restaurant voucher, snacks and bottle of wine). It's a lovely property in a great location.
