This property is in Mickleover, a 15-minute drive from Derby and a 20-minute drive from Uttoxeter Racecourse, which holds antique fairs and festivals, as well as racing events. The hotel is also a 20-minute drive from the historic river port of Shardlow, where you can join the Derwent Valley Heritage Way -- a 55-mile walking route passing through Derby and Matlock. Make sure you see Derby's cathedral, founded in 943, where a "vaulted ceiling towers above a fine collection of medieval tombs" (Lonely Planet).
