Overlooking Faro’s picturesque marina, this modern, multi-storey hotel offers the best of all of the Algarve’s worlds -- a pretty Old Town area to explore, close to restaurants and bars, and only a short drive from sandy beaches.
To many of the Algarve’s tourists, Faro is just an airport or a day trip, but there’s enough here to warrant a longer stay. Step out of the hotel to explore the Old Town, with its winding streets and cobbled squares -- check out the cathedral, with its fantastic tiled interior. Alternatively, take the bus (or a taxi) to Praia de Faro, for sun-worshipping and swimming (on one side) or sailing and wind-surfing (on the other).
Back at the hotel, two restaurants serve regional dishes, featuring plenty of fresh fish -- Harune offers marina views, while Ossonoba’s terraces opens onto the Old Town. A cocktail bar with a piano is open from 4pm-midnight. Buffet breakfast is served from 7-10am, and is included in some rates. The rooftop pool is open from May to October, and there’s also a health club with a gym (group classes are also available), sauna, steam bath and spa treatments (charges apply).
Slick, bright rooms and suites have large windows and plenty of natural light. Amenities include minibars, LCD TVs, desks and WiFi (which can be unpredictable), while some add living spaces, extra TVs and balconies with seating areas. Some rooms have marina views, but it’s a lively area, so avoid these if you need a quiet night.
