The Barcelo Langosta Beach provides an all-inclusive escape on a secluded beach. You’ll be far from those badgering you to buy trinkets and more likely to spot wildlife -- some guests have hiked up to rocks near the beach to see crabs. A children’s pool, nightly show and outdoor entertainment are included; adults can swim in a private pool, listen to live music, and drink a wide range of alcoholic beverages. Additional programs are available for both children and adults.
The hotel also offers better-than-average food choices for an all-inclusive with three meals, including a themed dinner nightly, fresh fruits, and a variety of poolside snacks. Stick to domestic beverages, though, to avoid surcharges.
Large, clean rooms have balconies or patios and bright Caribbean accents. If you want to leave the property, hotel staff will assist you in getting a taxi to Tamarindo, where you can shop at the farmers market, dine in a variety of restaurants, or visit the many dive and surf shops. The trip costs about $5 each way. During the daytime, it’s also possible to walk on paved roads, which will take about 25 minutes. Leave time to grab a drink at the sports bar near the property on your return trip.
Check out the Tamarindo Wildlife Refuge, where ospreys, herons, kingfishers, howler monkeys and sea turtles live, or visit Pura Aventura, which has horseback riding, biking and zip-lining, and is about 40 minutes away.
