Overview

The Biltmore Hotel has as grand an entrance as one would expect from a historic, upscale resort. Drive up a long, curved driveway to arrive at the sprawling Mediterranean-inspired grounds. The storied hotel is home to one of the United States’ largest pools, lined with statues and sculptures, and the impressive lobby area is filled with pillars, frescoes and caged, exotic birds. During the Jazz Age, its marbled halls played host to a number of high-profile guests and celebrities.

Rooms are as elegant as the environs, with golden wood furniture, high-end bedding and towels and soothing golden, yellow and cream tones throughout.

The hotel also has a sizable gym with all the latest technology, a notable French restaurant helmed by a James Beard-nominated chef and an 18-hole tropically landscaped golf course designed by the celebrated course architect Donald Ross. If leisure is on the agenda, spend the day at the in-house spa and salon and afterward grab a casual bite at one of the restaurants by the massive pool or golf course.

From the press:
  • “The grounds are so palatial it would take a solid week to explore everything the Biltmore has to offer” -- Lonely Planet

When we arrived they were under renovations. I hope they upgrade all their rooms because our rooms was a bit outdated but nevertheless extremely clean and comfortable.

The ambience at the restored 1920's hotel is great. The relaxing pool, the attentive service and the excellent cuisine made for a memorable trip.

I think I enjoyed the pool the most. There were plenty of chairs and the pool staff, Neffy I believe was her name was helpful. Also the wait staff was pretty responsive poolside.
Other Comments
The one thing I found surprising was that the pool area on Sunday morning didn't look very clean. Cups from the night before and trash and cigarette butts in a few of the poolside containers. I would think that would be easy enough to take care of either at the end of shift or first thing in the morning. It was surprising for a 4 star hotel.

The French Restaurant was really great - VERY EXPENSIVE, but great food and service.

The rooms. We had a pet. First they stuck us in a room on the second floor without access to an elevator. The bell hop helped us get another room on the 3rd floor with elevator; however, it was directly above the ballroom where they were having a big wedding party. The room actually shook until after midnight,

The beautiful historic architecture, the enormous pool, the live symphony music outdoors prior to the magnificent fireworks display. The junior suites looked just like the photo and were very nice. Luxury bed linens were super comfortable, too.

The only weak area we encountered was the service at The 19th Hole on July 4th. The rest of the staff members were great. I had my own room, but my daughter and her children were in another junior suite. Her husband brought his mother down to spend the afternoon and enjoy the fireworks, then he took his mother back to West Palm Beach.

We were treated like second class citizens - bc of the 4th of July the hotel is on high alert not wanting non-guests to access hotel amenities. But that shouldn’t mean hotel guests should be treated poorly. And there was limited food service and employees did not know answers to basic questions about activities, etc.

Staff were so nice and attentive, cleanliness, the bed! Also the firework show for fourth of July was fantastic.

We loved our stay and wished that we could have extended for another day. The only feedback to Travelzoo is that they should offer breakfast with the deal to make it absolutely a no-brainer.

There are so any things to choose from...the rooms, the food, the pool, the beauty of the architecture, the staff, the brunch, but most of all the overall feeling of being VIPs for the weekend.

We can't say enough good things about the hotel itself, the staff, and everything the experience offered. We truly enjoyed our stay and look forward to going back.
