Overview

"Seattle's only true waterfront hotel," the Edgewater, a Noble House Hotel, "manages to capture the feel of a classic Northwest wilderness retreat," raves Frommer’s. The hotel is set directly on Seattle's Elliott Bay, hovering over the water at the end of Pier 67 and offering some of the best views of the Puget Sound and Olympic Mountains.

The hotel is 10 minutes on foot from the aquarium and the Olympic Sculpture Park and a 15-minute walk along the waterfront from Pike Place Market. The famed Space Needle is 20 minutes away down Broad Street, and in summer guests can borrow a bike for free. The hotel also offers a complimentary shuttle service to top destinations and attractions within a one-mile radius. It runs on the hour, every hour, and guests can call for pickups.

The hotel’s restaurant Six Seven more than holds its own among Seattle’s seafood dining scene with outstanding harbor views, a regularly changing menu and live music on the weekends. Try butter-poached shrimp, Alaskan King crab legs or pan-roasted halibut, or drop by for happy hour drink specials (Sunday-Thursday, 3-6 p.m.). Make sure you get a table outside -- it’s "the best waterfront deck in Seattle" (Frommer’s).

It’s been a while since the rock stars of the '60s and '70s stayed, but Lonely Planet says "rooms are still deluxe with a capital 'D.'" Standard rooms are small, but rustic furnishings and gas fireplaces in every room make them feel cozy. It’s worth upgrading to a room overlooking the water (some even have balconies), as standard rooms face the city and some are affected by noise from the nearby train station. Pets with a travel kennel or hutch are welcome for no extra charge.

Explore the Seattle area with these adventure-filled activities.

From the press:
  • "The views out the windows are among the best in Seattle, and sunsets can be mesmerizing" -- Frommer’s
  • "Perched over the water on a pier, it was once the hotel of choice for every rock band that mattered" -- Lonely Planet
  • "With its self-consciously hearty, rustic interiors -- all log and pine furniture, checks and tartans, river stones and slate -- the Edgewater takes the Pacific Northwest-lodge motif to the nth degree" -- Travel + Leisure

Great location, great view.

I had to ask for the parking and was charged for it, I was not offered a room upgrade or late check out- it was as if my voucher meant nothing other than breakfast to the staff. The hotel is also run down and shabby. Our room was right next to railroad tracks so my daughter and I barely slept.

With the room being on the harbor side we were able to see a mild storm occuring on the day we arrived

We chose this hotel not because the Beatles stayed here, but because it was close to our final destination of seeing a live show. The main gripe I have is the feeling that your being gouged, as most items in the room have price tags on them if you use them. An example would be a 12oz can of Coke for $4.oo !!. our one night stay cost us $461.oo, and we were being cheap about it. Your also isolated from other food sources, so your stuck with the hotels food.
