Le Petit Belloy Saint-Germain is in St-Germain-des-Prés, an upmarket neighbourhood on Paris's Left Bank. "If you had to choose the most classically Parisian neighborhood, this would be it", says Fodor's

The area was popular with artists and writers in the 20th century, when Picasso, Hemingway and Camus were regulars at the Café de Flore and Les Deux Magots on the Boulevard Saint-Germain. Nowadays its streets are full of designer boutiques, bookshops and art galleries. The Jardin du Luxembourg is a 5-minute walk from the hotel, and the Musée Delacroix is 10 minutes' walk away (open Wednesday-Monday; entry included with a ticket to the Musée du Louvre).

The Latin Quarter, where you'll find the Musée National du Moyen Âge and the Jardin des Plantes, is also within walking distance. The Île de la Cité, an island in the middle of the River Seine, is a 10-minute walk from the hotel for visits to Notre-Dame Cathedral and Sainte Chapelle.

The hotel serves a buffet breakfast (7-10:30am). A pocket mobile Wi-Fi device can be hired for 1€ per day. Classic Rooms are soundproofed and offer free Wi-Fi. Some rooms have balconies.

First of all it was very difficult to find, not well marked. But the thing that was the most irritating was the guy that was there at check in. I had called and asked for help getting there of telling me where it was, and he kept telling me to google it and I told him my phone was not working for some reason and I couldn't do that. Anyhow, it was about a mile from us but we gave up and got a taxi. When we got there the taxi driver didn't take a credit card. So he went in and asked the guy to give him cash for us. So, the "concierge" guy was very slow, but he looked at us and said, " so you want me to give him cash and you will pay me back?" And I said, " yes, just add it to our bill." and he said okay and gave the guy 9,60 euros. After that he gave us our room info and we talked with him about 3 different times. Including when we asked where the train station was. However, it wasn't until after we got back from having dinner that he told us he needed us to pay him the cash back for the drawer before 9pm. At this point we were so tired, our last night in France and we could not understand why he hadn't told us that before. He said there was a bank across the street, so we went and the ATM's we saw were not working. He even told us that it was not his problem that we didn't have cash for the driver. And, while that is true, still, he is in the hospitality business. We went across the street and found out where another bank was and got the cash. When we got back he said he had gone across the street where we found the machines not working and he said there were 4 and two were not working. I found it interesting that while he didn't seem to be able to leave his post to help us, he could leave and find out for himself if the machines were working. All that to say he was rude and not helpful. Every other hotel we had been at the staff had been very nice and helpful. He was not. Additionally, you need to put in the description that this hotel is tiny. It had the tiniest lift and a small spiral staircase to your rooms. There was no landing at your floor. There was only a door to your floor and I think each floor had only 4 rooms. It felt more like an attic. If they are related to the Belloy across the street, it would be much more impressive to check in there and then walk across to the Petit Belloy. The check in is literally under the stairs.

We enjoyed our cute balcony where we could see the Eiffel Tower and Notre Dame lit up at night (although we wished there were chairs on it). The breakfast was delicious and we were thrilled to have macrons with our espresso in the hotel lobby. The staff was very helpful with booking tickets and with directions for transportation.

Rooms are very small and simply equipped. We loved that we could share aminities with the Sister hotel across the street though.
