Overview

Mercure Warwickshire Walton Hall Hotel & Spa, part of which is a converted 16th-century mansion, is set within 65 acres of Warwickshire countryside. With the famous towns of Warwick and Stratford-upon-Avon a short drive away, the hotel is in an ideal location to explore the historic heart of England.

Warwick and Stratford-upon-Avon are both a 20-minute drive from the hotel. Stratford-upon-Avon, the birth and death place of Britain’s most famous playwright, William Shakespeare, is an "unmistakably Tudor town" according to Lonely Planet. A visit to Warwick Castle, described by Frommer’s as the "finest medieval castle in England", is also a must.

The Mercure Warwickshire Walton Hall Hotel & Spa is "carefully designed to blend in naturally with the surroundings, whilst offering guests contemporary facilities", according to Lonely Planet. Amenities include beauty rooms and health club with a swimming pool, a sauna, a steam room and a gym. The hotel also has a 2-AA-Rosette fine dining restaurant, Moncreiffe, and AA-Rosette-awarded brasserie, the orangery. At the orangery, the AA recommends the twice-baked goats' cheese soufflé with a Waldorf salad. Breakfast, afternoon tea and Sunday lunch is also available.

The hotel has 148 standard and 37 deluxe rooms available, including Double Rooms, King Rooms, Garden View Rooms and Suites. Garden View Rooms and Suites are located in the 16th-century hall. All room types have TVs and complimentary Wi-Fi.

From the press:

  • "[The Orangery Restaurant is] a brasserie with a fine-dining finish and views out over the Victorian garden, plus a terrace to make the best of sunny days" -- The AA Restaurant Guide 2015
