Shrigley Hall Hotel & Spa is a Georgian country-house hotel, which was built in 1825 and is set in over 260 acres of Cheshire parkland.
The property is at the edge of the Peak District National Park, and the village of Pott Shrigley -- five minutes' drive away -- has countless rambling and cycling routes.
Lyme Park, a large National Trust estate is a 25-minute drive away. Lyme Park dates back to 1400 and is home to an Elizabethan house, 17 acres of gardens and a deer park. During your visit, you can explore the house, which includes a library and a dressing room -- where you can try on items of period dress.
Kinder Scout National Nature Reserve and Biddulph Grange Gardens -- a National Trust-owned landscaped Victorian garden -- are both 35 minutes' drive away. Buxton is about 30 minutes' drive and the historic walled city of Chester is approximately an hour away by car.
The hotel has a restaurant, an indoor swimming pool, a sauna, a steam room, a Jacuzzi, a gym and a fitness studio. There is also an 18-hole golf course on site. Wi-Fi is free throughout.
