Overview
Follow in the footsteps of American royalty, including Katharine Hepburn, Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton, with a stay at the Windsor Arms Hotel.
Described by Lonely Planet as an "exquisite piece of Toronto history," this boutique property is home to a beautiful spa and an award-winning restaurant, and is near the trendy area of Yorkville. Designer shops on Bloor Street are just at the end of the street, but the hotel is nicely outside of the city bustle.
Visitors will be well looked after at this intimate all-suite hotel, with a staff to guest ratio of five to one, a concierge with any number of tickets to sold-out shows up his sleeve and dedicated butlers for each of the 28 suites.
The suites are all a good size and come with your very own baby grand piano, guitar or harp, as well as a Nespresso machine and Blackberry Playbook (Wi-Fi is free).
Access to the two-level spa and its salt-water pool, sauna, steam showers, rooftop terrace and gym, is free for guests. Condé Nast Traveler calls it "one of the city's best," with a wide range of treatments on offer -- the organic oxygen facial is apparently a favorite of Madonna’s. Why not finish off a relaxing afternoon with high tea in the Russian Red Tea Room, where there are more than 20 types of tea on the menu and a selection of fancy hats for rental?
There are a number of high-end dinner options nearby, the hotel’s Prime Restaurant is worth a look. Organic and Kobe steaks are on the menu, complemented by a Wine Spectator award-winning wine list. After dinner, retire to Lounge 22 for a martini among the local movers and shakers.
Explore Canada’s cultural capital with adventure-filled activities, eye-catching shows and award-winning restaurants from top street side patios to skyscraper dining rooms.
