Overview

New Park Manor, a family-friendly retreat in the New Forest, is said to have been Charles II's favourite hunting lodge. The property is now a "tasteful" (The Daily Telegraph) boutique hotel, offering fine dining and a sumptuous spa.

The hotel's natural surroundings are great for outdoor activities -- from clay-pigeon shooting, archery, horse riding and climbing trees in the extensive grounds, to watersports and beach walks a short drive away.

The Spa has a 16-metre indoor pool, a steam room, a sauna, a hydrotherapy pool, a hot tub with views of the grounds, power jets and a foot spa. The Daily Telegraph praises the spa as "one of the finest examples" of a luxury spa.

The Stag restaurant offers fine dining, while the informal Vinery restaurant caters for all with child-friendly menus.

The hotel's 25 bedrooms are kitted out with plush furnishings, and some have original period features and parkland views. There are plenty of places to relax, including the cosy lounge (with an open fire in winter), a snug room and a cinema room. There is also a crèche.

Leisure facilities and food excellent All staff very helpful and friendly

Did suggest grab rails to be installed in room “Kent” situated in roof which also not really suitable for older guests as no lift and lots of stairs plus beam very low, not good if a tall person.

Staff were excellent including the receptionist who was eventually able to work out why the final bill was over £100 too much. Two deals were booked and paid through Travelzoo but only one showed as paid at the hotel !!
Other Comments
Compared to other similar hotels, food and drink far too expensive. Their basic 3 course menu was nearly £40 and their cheapest a la carte item - a vegan shepherd pie! was £23.10 with a duck breast at over £30.00. A 250ml glass of Rioja wine was £14.50 and a bottle of beer (no draught beer available0 was £6.05 all the above including the hotels automatic discretionary 10% charge. If this was Michelin starred hotel, then the prices would have been expected but it wasn't !

The service was excellent and food very good

Would have liked to have somewhere for breakfast that was adult only. Some parents of the numerous young children had little thought for anyone else leaving a disgraceful mess for staff to clear from table and floor.

The majority of staff were friendly. The pool and spar good.
Other Comments
The room was tiny, in the eaves, the ensuite was more of a wardrobe. The room was also an emergency exit!

Can’t find anything to criticise. Everything was good. Staff were great, room was very comfortable and well equipped and the food was very good. There were extra little touches that showed a great deal of thought had gone into making sure guests had a good experience

Comfortable lounge
Other Comments
1. It was an Attic room and my husband was unable to get in bed without bending almost in half because of the sloping ceiling. Not a room you would expect in a 'Luxury' Hotel. 2. We were unable to have a bath or shower as again we were afraid to get in the bath as there were no handles to get out ! 3. The stairs up to our bedroom were so steep which caused me acute breathlessness, so I was unable to use the Spa as I couldn't get back to my bedroom. 4. Food was below the standard for a 'Luxury' Hotel
