Overview

Close to five subway lines on Manhattan’s Upper West Side, the Arthouse is an industrial-designed hotel with style and comfort in mind, a short 10-minute walk to Central Park West and the American Museum of Natural History. There are several spots to grab a quick bite or coffee between the hotel and the park, but for something more substantial, the hotel offers a few dining options of its own.

RedFarm, a restaurant that aims to breathe new life into classic Chinese cuisine with greenmarket ingredients, is the brainchild of food expert Ed Schoenfeld and dim sum master chef Joe Ng. New York Magazine says “most of the food is a cut above the kind of run-of-the-mill cooking you see these days down in Chinatown." For a fresh, simple Italian salad or slice of pizza, stop by Serafina. Then return in the evening to Arthouse Bar for hand-crafted cocktails in a setting inspired by 1920s decadence. Live jazz is offered on some nights. Continental breakfast is served here.

Muted grays mingle with bright, dark and baby blues in modern guest rooms. Relax in a standard room, where amenities include triple-sheeted beds, wood floors and bottled water. Deluxe rooms have the same features and even more space. Some are on higher floors and showcase views of Central Park, the Hudson River or the Upper West Side.

It was a great experience, subway terminal was close so the city was at our disposal. Very efficient, helpful and friendly staff. Will be returning soon! To add a great dining experience to your trip walk 2 blocks and enjoy Coppola's Italian restaurant.

I accidentally left some jewelry in my room and they kept it at the desk until my family could get it for me. I really appreciate the effort and caring they showed for some inexpensive but meaningful pieces. Only negative was we came back at night to no towels lol. Not a huge deal just inconvenient.

The hotel was awesome. Rooms were a nice size, and decor was wonderful. Bed and pillows were incredibly comfortable. Location was great. And the staff couldn't be better. We shared with Jennifer (the woman who checked us in) that we were in NYC to celebrate our anniversary. She arranged to send a bottle of wine, 2 wine glasses, and a cork screw, to our room, and we took the opportunity to go up to the roof deck (on the 16th floor) to enjoy the wine. The staff was all friendly and helpful, from the housekeeping staff to the front desk staff to the door staff to the random staff members we encountered in the elevator. Truly an exceptional experience!
