Overview

Popular among visitors to the nearby World Trade Center, the Seaport Boston also has plenty to boast for leisure travelers. There’s a full-service health club and rooms are "among the biggest in the city," says Fodor's. The hotel also prides itself on its green principles, with free bike and helmet rental for guests and beehives on its energy-saving roof.

The property is in the new Waterfront District, a 30-minute walk from downtown Boston. There are two dining options (local fare and light meals) and a cafe on-site, and the bar offers live jazz Tuesday evenings. The sizable health club has a heated indoor pool, exercise classes and a range of spa treatments available; plus, the gym is well-equipped with a team of personal trainers.

The rooms are simple with unfussy furnishings, but have high-tech features including fog-free bathroom mirrors, motion-sensor lighting and real-time flight information for Logan International Airport via the TV. Go for a room on a higher floor for stunning views over the city and the harbor. Hypoallergenic rooms are available for those with allergies, and kids are well looked after with Xbox games and a library. It’s a good choice for families.

From the press:
  • "Well-appointed, decent-size rooms have thoughtful features" --Frommer's
  • "With glorious views of the Boston Harbor, this business hotel is up-to-snuff when it comes to high-tech amenities" --Lonely Planet

The staff were amazing, particularly Jillian on the concierge desk. Housekeeping also phenomenal and courteous.

The bar staff in Tamo were less than friendly; however, the waitresses serving the tables were terrific and friendly. I spent seven nights there.

This was a hotel for rich people. Anything you want to buy, you can get. Not really family oriented. Pool was a lap pool. Breakfast was expensive.

Fairly kid-friendly with the child goody bag upon check in. Elevators were fast. And that gym...wonderful!! The lady working at the gym (weekend) was so delightful. She was very attentive of my needs. The gym was amazing in itself.
Other Comments
I wish the gym at the hotel had some exercise classes on the weekend. Also, It should be a little better advertised that the pool is not for kids. It is a small lap pool. And there is a sign that says anyone with long hair should have a swim cap. None of our family got to enjoy the pool.

When attempting to locate a restaurant with choices for both Vegetarians and Meat Eaters the staff did not have a clue. Apparently, I am the first Vegetarian having Meat Eating friends to stay there.
