Nestled near the Gorge du Verdon -- “Frances answer to the Grand Canyon” (The Daily Telegraph) -- and the Lubéron National Park, lies the 4-star Villa Borghese. This traditional French villa has an on-site swimming pool, balconies in the bedrooms and is surrounded by oak trees.
Gréoux-les-Bains town is a 5-minute walk away, with numerous narrow streets to explore and local farmer’s markets to browse through (particularly in summer). Also nearby are the Troglodytes Thermal Baths and the L’Occitane factory is a 15-minute drive by car (there is a free 1-hour tour Monday-Friday). It is also possible to hire bikes from the town’s tourism office to explore the surrounding countryside.
Back at the hotel, the outdoor swimming pool is heated from April-October and there are tennis courts, plus table tennis and bridge tables for guests to use. The restaurant La Table de Pauline serves lunch and dinner (try the reasonably priced set menu), and more casual fare is served on the terrace in summer. Every Monday evening, the hotel offers guests a complimentary pre-dinner drink. Breakfast is a nice varied buffet.
The bedrooms are a good size and have balconies overlooking the grounds. Expect showers over the baths, air conditioning, a mini fridge and free Wi-Fi.
