About the tour
The tour commences in Beijing on Day 2 with a guided tour of the Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square. Enjoy a traditional tea ceremony and tea art lesson, where you'll learn about the benefits of drinking tea and how best to taste it.
The next day, you'll journey to the Mutianyu section of the Great Wall. Enjoy a hike along the Great Wall followed by a drive to Jiankou Village in the afternoon. You'll hike along the Jiankou portion of the Great Wall, famed for it's steep mountainous landscape and known as one of the most photogenic portions of the Wall. In the afternoon, transfer to Gubeikou and explore the village before getting settled at the guesthouse. Once settled, find some inner peace with a Tai Chi lesson before dinner.
Next, you'll transfer to the starting point of the "Crouching Tiger" portion of the Great Wall and enjoy a three hour hike along the wall. Enjoy scenes of vast landscapes and wild greenery as the Crouching Tiger portion of the Great Wall is known for containing un-restored portions of the original wall. Crowned with a two-storey watch tower, jump back in time and get a glimpse of ancient China.
The following day includes a hike from Gubeikou to the Jinshanling portion of the Great Wall then transfer to the Huangyaguan portion in Tianjin. On day 7, the last day of trekking, you'll hike along the Wall at Huangyaguan, named for the bright yellow flowers that appear in this region.
On the way back to Beijing, you'll explore the Qing Tombs, the best preserved mausoleum complex in the country. On your last night, you'll get a free day to relax in Beijing or to explore more of the sights of the city.
