Love the Fairmont at Mayakoba from The moment you set foot on the grounds, you feel welcomed. Everyone is so friendly, professional. The place is meticulously kept. Room was spacious and comfortable. Would recommend to family and friends.

We only wish there was some kind of entertainment/live music there’s nothing to do after dinner. Since the place is secluded, we did not feel comfortable going elsewhere. Also, at ck in they do not tell you tip will be added at the end. We tipped at every meal/service essentially we doubled tipped.

We love the Fairmont! It’s a great place for couples and/or families. Looking forward to returning

Most of the staff were wonderful.. the problems are not their fault it’s the stricture and the system. The lagoon and resort location was really very nice.

There was hardly any of the advertised activities. Was basically thrown out of Ciello bar as they had a private event . Most other resort buffets ( much less expensive at that) are far superior. Food selection is very limited and was very disappointing and to top it off after charging resort fee (40) which I knew about and you disclosed , they charged an additional usd 36 daily which was what they called “ discretionary service charge”!which was not discretionary and you had not disclosed upfront!!! I tipped well in cash and found this to be highly questionable since you had supposedly identified any additional charges!

The Mayakoba region of playa del Carmen is an ecological site, waterways, bicycle, walking paths and lots of lush plants so you feel some sense of privacy even though your in a resort

The staff service is excellent, they remember you at the restaurants, the beach, they are attentive with out being intrusive.

Very nice place. Staff were all friendly--top notch. However, I hate the system where you have to sign off on all the drinks and service at an all inclusive. An unnecessary annoyance. It seemed as if we had to wait around for a half hour or more after every meal to get our check--time that we could have spent enjoying the resort and our vacation.

another great time at Mayakoba- we went this same time last year, and it was just as magical as the last time. there was a slight issue with no king rooms available the night we checked in but they fixed it the next day. we had a wonderful time and are going back in January with the family. Love Fairmont Mayakoba!!

excellent stay. Loved the Eco Tour on the Fairmont boat. Wish there was a hot tub in either pool area. Service and food were truly excellent.

We had some trouble upon check in. It took 5 hours to get into our room. Also 12 hour before they got our internet working. A bit of sticker shock upon check out fees are high including what was called Travel Zoo taxes.

4th time at this resort and it never disappoints. There is almost nothing I would change about this place. Staff, food, accommodations, grounds…. It’s all great.

There was an unfortunate incident with very strong chemical odors in our room. This problem and the cause has not been explained by Mayakoba management.

We went right after peak season - first full week of September - so it was relatively empty. We got a free upgrade - possibly because we told them we were there for my brother’s 40th, and possibly because it was under booked, but nevertheless they did not have to do that. Parts of the hotel are fairly far apart, so you do have to take a bike or wait for a golf cart chauffeur. But overall, beautiful hotel and thus great deal on Travelzoo

This was our second visit to the Fairmont Mayakoba, both booked through Travelzoo, and once again, it exceeded our expectations. The staff is truly exceptional, going above and beyond to ensure an unforgettable stay. The property itself is stunning, offering a perfect blend of natural beauty and luxury. With plenty of restaurants to choose from, there's always something to satisfy your cravings. Located just 40 minutes from Cancun airport, the resort is easily accessible by car or shuttle. Once you arrive, you’re transported into a serene neighborhood with several properties nearby—but trust me, you won’t want to leave the Fairmont!

During our stay, we experienced a slip and fall, and we were blown away by the care and professionalism of everyone involved—from the front desk staff to the paramedics and the onsite doctor. I've been coming to the Fairmont Mayakoba resort for over 5+ years and through Travelzoo and when we checked out we were hit with a $2k plus of 21% Govermental tax...You need to spell out explicitly the cost per day...and extra $300 a night for taxes along with the $500+ room rate to make it $800+ a night? No thanks!

We have been to the Fairmont Mayakoba on many occasions. It has always been a highlight. Top notch food and service. Love the spa and the restaurants.

Fabulous help from Vanessa and the concierge staff, and sweet gifts of champagne, sweets, and art! We loved our beachfront palapa and location in town, Starbucks on premises!

It was the best stay ever!

great time. Beautiful hotel. Even thought we had the all inclusive, gratuity is not included so you have to sign a ticket every time you get a drink/food. We tipped based on the service, not the amount of the bill since obviously the prices are a bit high if you were just paying them. A bit odd compared to our other all inclusive experiences but no big deal, just don't freak out when you see a bill for a LOT, it does come off at the end. The food was delicious, drinks were great, and the hotel is beautiful. Would gladly return.
