Our first time there & we enjoyed the food, ambiance & the activities. Staff is polite & helpful. Will recommend to friends!

The property is beautiful and impeccably maintained. The rooms are spacious, nicely appointed and comfortable.

The only down side is that really can’t walk to anything except a Mexican restaurant and a sandwich place across the street.

Great weekend in Carmel. Quail lodge was very nice. So many nice touches. The room was large with robes & slippers & plenty of storage. We used the hotels electric bikes and enjoyed them. The wine hour was nice. We really enjoyed the breakfasts we had at the hotel too. Staff was nice. The pool area looked really nice although we didn’t use but my husband enjoyed the sauna. Would definitely stay again. This was a great deal on travelzoo.

Great hotel on a resort. Golf ,tennis and pickleball available at the resort. Breakfast was great.

Stayed on property for an extended weekend stay We used the pool gym and ate our meals on both restaurants on site. Our premium room overlooked the pool and had views of mountains. Service and food were excellent. A very well rested stay. There were other amenities near or on property still to be explored

Some staff lack communication skills in the front desk. Most of the staff at the front desk does not appear to be happy or welcoming.

The grounds were beautiful. Travelzoo made it very easy to book.

I don't like writing negative reviews but there were issues with the staff. Checking in took 20 minutes even though the manager was busy chatting with me and there was only 1 person ahead of me...not sure why he couldn't check me in. Breakfast was nice and most of the restaurant staff was exceptional but there was a bus person who was absolutely rude to me - she took away from husband's meal when he left for the restroom, the next day she nearly hit me in the face with my meal. The 2nd night there was a child screaming in the room above us before we went to bed & we let that go as the noise had calmed down by the time we went to bed but started up again around 5:30 am. The 3rd day we were awakened by bloodcurdling screams from the child for over an hour. We called the front desk and they said they would address it. After it was clear they were not going to address it, I called again and they asked us to move rooms in the middle of the night. They made it pretty clear that they were not happy we had called. Finally someone from the hotel addressed the issue and the child stopped. We were then called and told they would provide some accommodation to us. In the morning when we finished breakfast, we asked to talk with the hotel manager. We were told the manager had stepped out for a few minutes. We finished packing and about 30 minutes later went to the front desk for our final bill and to talk with the manager who still was not available. Jennifer arrived and said she was the assistant manager. I explained the situation from the past 2 evenings, she made it pretty clear as did the other front desk person that we were not being very sensitive about the parents of the screaming child. She grudgingly provided a $200 credit and rudely told me she would mark our account as people who should not have a room near anyone else. They basically made us feel like we were the issue for complaining about very obnoxious guests. Also, room was only cleaned one day even though we were out of the room almost 4 hours on the 2nd day. We never received a call from the hotel manager. While we can understand the difficulty with a child throwing a tantrum. We would have expected the parents to have consoled the child and/or taken them out of the room for a walk or a drive to calm them down. If the child was sick, then take them to the hospital but don't expect other hotel guests to endure such inappropriate behavior. Also, the fact that as soon as someone from the hotel arrived at their door, the issue subsided.

The experience was fantastic! The rooms and the property were very clean and nice! Coffee in the morning was great. Can’t wait to go back and visit.

Great experience overall, however want to give feedback on SERVICE. Sunday nights, onsite restaurant/limited menu closes at 9p. We were eating outside and ordered food, drinks, etc and was never told after 9p that the kitchen was closing. The server never asked us if we wanted dessert, etc. My young daughters were very disappointed. Then I asked for a glass of wine at 9:05p, and our server/bartender said that the bar was closed too. Wow! Not ok for the amount of money we were spending! The bar should stay open/available for anyone who still is seated and eating! My spaghetti bolognese was served with penne pasta - was not communicated to me. It was $28 and tasted like something I could have received from Olive Garden. Way overpriced for the quality. My daughter's Steak Frites was below average - came out warm and quality not good for the price either.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 night stay. Although the resort was full, you couldn’t tell because the resort was spread out. It was so quiet and peaceful. We enjoyed the on site activities such as the 9 hole putting green that wrapped around through the resort among the rooms and bungalows, featuring natural grass. The electric assist bikes were easy to check out and made it fun to explore the area. Loved having a private patio at our bungalow, and a fire pit just outside of the patio. What a restful way to enjoy and celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary!

Everything we needed was there and dining restaurant across the street as well as Earth Bound farm close.

The grounds are gorgeous, five minutes outside of Carmel and the weather is sunny!

Overall a very nice hotel with modern-feeling rooms and relaxing grounds. We had a balcony overlooking the central pond, which was very peaceful. Beds were comfortable. Bathroom was very spacious with a shower and a tub. There were a few minor issues with the room, though. The AC system was loud when it started up, and in order to maintain a temperature, it seemed to start up and stop pretty frequently. Wi-fi was fairly slow (generally <20 Mbps, often <15). Electrical sockets were the old kind that are pretty loose -- if you use two-prong plugs, expect them to fall out pretty easily. The toilet was constantly running at a low level. It was too chilly to try the pool, but my wife and daughter used the fitness center and found it to be comprehensive, with well-maintained machines. There are a few outdoor firepits that are lit in the evening, and you can get s'mores kits from the front desk, which is fun. We didn't try the putting course. Really enjoyed the daily wine hour -- high quality wine! We also appreciated the $50 daily breakfast credit from Travelzoo, but the hotel was really unclear on their breakfast options. The website and the info on the hotel TV described a Breakfast Basket that could be delivered to the room, and the front desk initially said it was an option as well, but later we learned from another front desk agent that it was no longer available. There are two Blink EV chargers on the premises, but one of them was broken (which only became apparent after initiating a charge session, so I still got charged an initiation fee of $0.49 -- had to wrangle with Blink support to get that reversed). There's a cute shopping center right next door, with an excellent Mexican restaurant (Baja Cantina) if you don't want to eat at the hotel's restaurant.

Wanted to try the e-bikes, but too big for my wife. Wish they had regular bikes. Good value. Enjoyed the daily wine hour. Will definitely want to stay there in future.

The setting is very peaceful & beautiful. The grounds are really kept up & rooms ( bungalow) was spacious & clean. Lobby was also comfortable & inviting.Staff were helpful and friendly . The food at the Covey Grill was plentiful and okay, not amazing. Food at Grill was pricey. It would have been even a better stay to have a hot tub ! And nice to offer bocce as well. Overall though would recommend.

We loved our stay at the Quail lodge. We have come to Carmel over the years but our best experience has been here at Quail Lodge. The backdrop against the mountains added to the included amenities, friendly staff and larger rooms makes these accommodations the best.

Just wonderful and peaceful.

Peaceful, intimate settting. Multiple firepits nestled throughout the property gave everyone their privacy. Great food and plenty of amenities - we enjoyed the s'mores by the fire, riding ebikes on surrounding trails with gorgeous views, multiple putting greens and the pool. We had a spacious room with outdoor seating overlooking a pond. We loved it and my kids are already asking when we can go back - it's the perfect getaway!

Lovely grounds. Complimentary upgrade at check in to larger room with patio and view of the golf course, water features and mountains. Hotel staff was welcoming and honored the travelzoo discount perfectly. Breakfast was more than you could eat with your credit and was delicious with healthy options and great serice. Went to Edgars at the golf course for dinner, staff drove us in the golf cart. Live music was excellent and the happy hour was just beginning to wind down in the bar. The staff was very attentive to the patrons offering bar nuts and drink refills efficiently. The property is quiet and it is just a few miles from downtown, so nice to come back to after a day in town. Robes and slippers in your room. Pool and gym areas were clean. Across the street from the lodge is a little shopping center and we tried the mexican restaurant which had great bean dip; rosemary chicken quesadillas and good margaritas. We also tried the water bikes at the Elkorn Slough about 30 minutes away and were delighted with all the sealife. Seals, jellyfish and so much more visible. Highly recommend.

Great place to relax, warmer weather than Camel by the Sea, yet easy access to all local points of interest.

Nice, comfortable lodge with fun stuff to enjoy at lodge. Even though it was cold outside we still enjoyed warm heated pool. Room was large, well equipped with comfortable bed. Staff was super nice. Breakfast was delicious. Frogs were a little noisy but we also got to enjoy watching young deer running through the fields.

The Quail was an ideal place for us to get away for a couple of days. The grounds were neat with fire pits scattered throughout which made for cozy fireside chats in the cool evening. We got upgraded to a king room with a wonderful view overlooking the putting green. The place was tranquil and peaceful. Dining at the Covey Grill was a wonderful experience. By chance we were able to try their 3-course prix fixe meal only available on Wed nights, the day we checked in. The meals were prepared and presented perfectly. The staff was nice and friendly and even the chef came out to chat with the diners about their dining experience. Highly recommend the Quail for a getaway.
