The Tuscan countryside unfolds across sun-painted olive groves, spiraling vineyards and gently hilled villages before crossing the ramparts of Castello di Montegufoni. This 12th-century castle welcomes guests during a trip to Italy for $1299 per person.
Great Value Vacations is sending two or four travelers on this journey with the following package, which saves up to $200 per person compared with putting the pieces together separately:
- Roundtrip airfare between New York City and Rome (other departure cities available at slightly higher prices)
- Seven nights on the grounds of the Castello di Montegufoni estate
- Manual-shift economy car rental with unlimited mileage
Travel during March, when the gardens surrounding the castle are starting to bloom. The nearest village is a 10-minute stroll down the road, and Florence is within a half-hour drive, meaning guests are close to world-class art and fresh, locally sourced foods.
For $1499 per person, extend the trip with two nights near Rome at the 4-star Villa Vecchia. Add $99 per person to either package to receive a dinner at Montegufoni Castle, as well as two wine tastings and tours at nearby vineyards.
