Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines has just reduced a week-long sailing around Morocco and the Canary Islands to £413 per person -- this is one the cheapest prices we've ever seen for a Canaries cruise.
For over £280 less than the usual cost, you get a 7-night sailing from Dover on the Braemar, a flight back to London Gatwick or Manchester from Tenerife and an overseas airport transfer. In addition, a coach from London Gatwick (worth £45) or Manchester (worth £75) to Dover is available free of charge for all guests at the start of the trip.
The cruise departs from Dover on 19 November -- when temperatures average 15-20°C. After leaving Dover, Braemar spends two days at sea, before arriving in the Portuguese capital of Lisbon, described by Lonely Planet as "Portugal's star attraction". Next, the ship visits Portimao (the Algarve) and Casablanca (Morocco), and after another day at sea, heads on to Santa Cruz de Tenerife, the capital of Tenerife. From there, guests will catch the return flight home to London or Manchester.
The price is based on two sharing an Inside Cabin on a full-board basis. Upgrade to an Outside Higher Cabin for £70 more person; or a Superior Outside Cabin for £140 more per person.
Braemar joined the Fred. Olsen fleet in 2001 and received a complete facelift in 2008, which included the addition of the Observatory Lounge, the Grampian Restaurant, a new swimming pool and the Scottish-themed Morning Light Pub. The ship has a traditional feel, with formal dinner at the two restaurants, the Thistle and the Grampian. Facilities include gaming tables, two Jacuzzis, a fitness centre, a beauty salon and a library.
