A mini break in a 17th-century fortress on Portugal's dramatic Lisbon coast -- for £239 per person, this luxury package really is a cut above the rest. Stay in a Relais & Châteaux hotel with a Michelin-starred restaurant and save up to £150 on the usual price.
The offer includes:
The hotel, which is "15 minutes along the coast from Lisbon in posh Cascais", according to TNT Magazine, won a TripAdvisor Travellers' Choice 2013 award in the Small Hotels category. It overlooks Guincho beach, the Atlantic Ocean and Cabo da Roca, the most westerly point of mainland Europe.
Its fine-dining restaurant serves traditional Portuguese cuisine with a French twist using local ingredients, and there's an 800-strong wine list. Drinks are also served in the bar, which is spread over three rooms, including the library. There's also free Wi-Fi in public areas.
The UNESCO World Heritage Site of Sintra, which is dotted with castles and tiny villages, is a scenic 20-minute drive from the hotel through the mountains. Cascais -- "an appealing old town full of narrow, winding lanes", according to Lonely Planet -- is five miles away. The hotel also provides free bike hire -- order a picnic and cycle along the coastline, or for a dose of culture, head back from the beach to Cascais old town. Deal Expert Felicity stayed earlier this year and recommends exploring its winding lanes and historic buildings.
