Southeastern Railway has reduced the cost of off-peak train tickets by 25%, with prices for medium- and long-distance journeys now starting from £8.

Head to Stratford International to explore the plethora of shops and restaurants of Westfield Stratford City -- the largest shopping centre in Europe.

A further seven minutes down the line you'll reach St Pancras International. The Grade I listed building houses over 50 shops and restaurants, including Europe’s longest champagne bar.

Alternatively, London has plenty more going on over the festive period, including:

  • Ice skating at Somerset House (take the train to Charing Cross)
  • Borough Market -- a festive favourite for foodies (take the train to London Bridge)
  • Hyde Park's Magical Ice Kingdom -- sculpted from 200 tonnes of ice and snow (take the train to Victoria)

You could also use this deal to escape the city. Take the train to Canterbury West, Chatham or take in the sea air at Dover Priory.
