National Express has released 250,000 coach seat for under £5 each way. Taking the train on some of these routes regularly costs over £50.

The fares are valid for travel until 26 October, on over 1000 routes across the country. Here's a sample of what's on offer:

London to Manchester… £3

We found the best availability on fares in late August, September and October.
