The trip starts in Rome with a stay at the brand-new Excel Hotel Roma Montemario. The hotel is three miles from the Trevi Fountain and the Spanish Steps, and a short bus ride from Vatican City. Rooms overlook the Monte Mario Natural Reserve and offer free Wi-Fi, and hotel facilities include an outdoor swimming pool, a gym and a restaurant.

Next, you'll stay at the Hotel Delfino on the lively Corso del Popolo in Mestre, 15 minutes from St Mark's Square. There's a bus stop right outside to take you into the centre of Venice, with its network of bridges, canals and surrounding islands.

Checked baggage is from an extra £35 per 15kg. Transfers are not included, but each city is easily accessible by bus from the airport.
