AG's Grill Room Restaurant at Alexander House Hotel & Utopia Spa has been awarded two AA Rosettes for its combination of "confidently up-to-date cooking" and "opulent furnishings".

Two people can now get a 3-course meal with prosecco at this 17th-century mansion for £35 -- a saving of £40.90.

As an exclusive package for Travelzoo subscribers, AG's is lifting its usual restrictions, so that the Lunch Menu is available for dinner, Wednesday-Thursday, as well as for lunch, Wednesday-Saturday, until 31 July.

The menu often changes frequently depending on seasonal availability, but it currently includes starters such as caramel smoked wild duck or London cure smoked salmon, main courses including Sauternes' pot roasted pheasant or grilled plaice with cockles, and desserts such as British and French cheeses, or sticky toffee pudding.

The 4-star Alexander House Hotel & Utopia Spa in East Grinstead is set in 170 acres of Sussex parkland, a 20-minute drive from Brighton and a 35-minute drive from Chichester.

The AA Restaurant Guide 2012 commends this peaceful retreat for its "impressive works of art", describing it as "country-house grandeur to a tee".
