The Deal

The Good Food Guide 2013 praises the "top-class service and shrewd sourcing" at 99 Station Street. Now, you and a friend can dine on a 2-course meal at the Burton-upon-Trent restaurant for £22 instead of the usual £45.80.

Here's an idea of what you can expect:

- A starter each such as honey-glazed ham hock salad, with a sweet mustard aioli and quails eggs, or warm Cornish crab bound with white wine volute on a spring onion dropped scone
- A main course each. We like the sound of the roasted fillet of salmon on a root vegetable and brown shrimp broth, or medallions of pork with saute greens and black pudding on a cider apple cream
- Or, swap your starter for a dessert, such as chocolate orange cheesecake with chocolate syrup and marbled shards, or bread and butter pudding with brandy-soaked fruits and vanilla custard

The restaurant is 25 minutes' drive from Derby and Lichfield, and five minutes' walk from Burton-upon-Trent train station.
