Upgrade to a Luxury Double for an extra £20 per night. These rooms are larger and include complimentary mineral water and chocolate, plus bathrobes and slippers to use during your stay.

The 4-star Langstone Hotel won praise from the AA for its "smartly designed" bedrooms with views over Langstone harbour. On site, swim in the largest indoor swimming pool in Portsmouth, relax in the sauna, Jacuzzi and steam room, work out in the gym or get pampered in the beauty rooms. Head chef James Parsons, who has recently joined the team at the Brasserie Restaurant, used to cook for the Queen Mother.

The hotel is located on the island's north shore and is well placed for exploring nearby attractions including Chichester harbour, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, or the newly opened Hayling Island Heritage Trail, which marks where British soldiers prepared for the World War II D-Day landings in 1944.
