The Deal

With a picturesque setting on Gateshead Quayside, O De V produces steaks which are "nothing short of stunning", according to Newcastle's Evening Chronicle. Now two Travelzoo subscribers can dine on a 2-course meal plus a glass of champagne each for £39 -- a saving of up to 52% on the usual price.

The venue occupies a prime spot which "oozes contemporary chic" (Sunderland Echo) and has received subsequent rave reviews from the local press.

You and a friend can take your pick of two courses each from the tasty à la carte menu (usually costing up to £80.80), for example:

- Two starters*, such as hand-dived scallops with chilli and tomato chutney and lemon dressing, or baked garlic and chilli king prawns on toasted ciabatta
- Two main courses*, such as the 8oz Asian infusion fillet steak with ginger, garlic, onions and chilli, or the slow-braised lamb shank with creamy mash and minted jus
- A glass of Laurent-Perrier champagne each

With its large open windows and riverfront balcony, O De V makes the most of its idyllic location, and guests can see as far as Henry II's Castle Keep.
