The Deal

For £29 instead of the usual £99, enjoy a hands-on cookery lesson and gain insider tips from top TV and specialist chefs at the Smart School Cookery School, which is run by former "MasterChef" contestant Ann Hood.

Save a fantastic £70 on the usual price of this experience, and take your pick from these four gourmet classes:

3-Course Gourmet Dinner: Learn how to create your very own 3-course gourmet menu. Although the dishes will change dependent on the class, here's an idea of what you'll be taught to make:
- A medley of mushrooms in a tarragon crème served on a crispy crostini, with a wild rocket salad in a raspberry fruit dressing
- Spatchcock chicken in lemon and herb dressing, served with parmentier potatoes
- A puree of butternut infused with sage mango tart tatin, served with an amaretto crème

Sushi and Japanese: Learn the art of making sushi, tempura and ramen in this 2.5-hour course.

Italian Masterclass: Discover how to make several types of pasta including ravioli and linguine accompanied by traditional sauces in this 2.5-hour class.

Knife Skills: Using the Smart School of Cookery’s Wusthof knives, you’ll learn how to professionally sharpen, cut and keep your knives in tip-top condition through this 2-hour course.

You'll get to eat the courses you've prepared in the 3-Course Gourmet Dinner class with a glass of wine. Tasters, refreshments and a glass of wine will be served at the Sushi and Italian classes; tea will be provided at the Knife Skills classes.

You can opt to take your course at either of the school's Mayfair, Essex, or newly-opened Kent location.

Renowned chefs at the school include Franck Pontais, who has featured on top foodie shows, including "Ready, Steady Cook" and "Iron Chef", and worked for Sir Elton John.
