For £39.45, book a top seat for the all-singing, all-dancing smash-hit West End show, "Shrek The Musical", based on the Oscar-winning animated movie. Available for performances Monday-Friday, these tickets are usually £65 -- that's a saving of 39%.
The offer is for a seat in the Stalls or Grand Circle at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane, from 3 September to 12 October. On Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays the curtain goes up at 7:30pm, and on Wednesdays it's 7pm. Thursday matinées start at 3pm, and there are no performances on Tuesdays.
Update (20 August, 9:38am): Due to popular demand, top tickets for performances on Saturday, 1 September and Sunday, 2 September are now available at the offer price of £39.45.
The musical features a completely original score, in addition to favourite songs from the film, such as "I'm a Believer". Starring as Shrek's one true love, Princess Fiona, is Carley Stenson ("Hollyoaks", "Legally Blonde the Musical"), while ex-"EastEnders" actor Neil McDermott plays the dimwitted and diminutive ruler, Lord Farquaad. Shrek's lovable and reliable steed, Donkey, is portayed with gusto by TV presenter Richard Blackwood.
"Shrek The Musical" was recently nominated for four Olivier Awards, and since hitting the West End it has received a host of great reviews. The Independent said it "leaves rivals green with envy", while one of our Travelzoo team said it was "hilarious... The most fun I've had at the theatre".
Travelzoo Tip: Why not dine out before seeing "Shrek The Musical" and dine on three courses at The Northall, located in the 5-star Corinthia Hotel, just a 5-minute donkey ride from the theatre. Usually £55 per person, this offer is £28 and includes a cocktail, canapés, and coffee. Click here for more information.
