Founded in 1923, Moor Allerton Golf Club's original 18-hole course was designed by Dr Alister McKenzie who went on to create Augusta National, home of the annual US Masters golf tournament. The club's current 27-hole format was laid by famous American architect Robert Trent Jones Sr in the 60s, and has hosted the likes of Nick Faldo and Greg Norman in European Tour events.
For just £18, Travelzoo subscribers can share 18 holes of golf and choose from three championship courses, including the Lakes, Blackmoor and High. This exclusive offer also includes coffees in the clubhouse, plus 40 balls at the driving range, and would usually cost up to £102.
Set in 220 acres, the Trent Jones course was shortlisted to host the Ryder Cup in 1977. The architect's trademarks of large teeing grounds, lakes and shallow bunkers are all present in all three loops of 9 holes.
BBC's legendary commentator Peter Alliss was the club professional at Moor Allerton for many years and has described the course as "a golfing experience larger than life".
This exclusive offer is valid anytime Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and from 1pm Tuesday, Saturday and Sunday, from now until 1 March, 2012.
