This voucher is valid for one person and must be used in one visit. Valid for a 2-hour chocolate-making workshop, food and wine pairing tutorial, and a 2-course lunch with a glass of champagne. Travelzoo subscribers are invited to celebrity chef Paul Heathcote MBE’s flagship venue, Longridge Restaurant to enjoy a unique foodie experience. This exclusive gourmet outing includes a chocolate-making workshop, food and wine pairing tutorial, and award-winning champagne lunch -- all for £59.
Usually £115, the event begins with coffee and chocolate cake on arrival. You will then be greeted by chocolatier, Lisa Kennedy, who has worked with Paul Heathcote for five years.
During the 2-hour course, you will be schooled in the origins, textures and tastes of different chocolates, learn how to make chocolate truffles, decorate cakes using different moulds, then create beautiful patterned chocolates.
Afterwards, you'll get to enjoy a food and wine pairing tutorial (often led by Paul Heathcote himself), in which you'll sample different wines that complement certain dishes, discussing the differences in variety, taste and smell.
Then, savour a 2-course gourmet lunch and glass of champagne in the restaurant, which was awarded three AA Rosettes for outstanding excellence in 2011. The Michelin Guide has praised its use of "quality ingredients to create appealing, flavoursome dishes". The menu change frequently according to seasonal availability, but options currently include peppered steak or fish in a buttered sauce.
Owned by celebrity chef Paul Heathcote MBE, who worked for 12 years with Raymond Blanc at Le Manoir Aux Quat'Saisons, Longridge Restaurant is a 19th-century converted cottage in the town of Longridge, about 20 minutes from Preston by car, and about an hour from Liverpool and Manchester.
Each course can accept up to 14 people, making this a fun idea for a party or group outing. Vouchers may be used for courses on select mornings and afternoons, starting at 10am, 11am or 5pm and will last approximately 3.5 hours. To view all available dates, please click here.
