The Deal

The AA Restaurant Guide 2013 praises the "time-honoured Lakeland charm" of Rothay Manor Hotel & Restaurant and has awarded it an AA Rosette for excellence.

For £39, two people can visit this Grade II-listed Regency manor for a 3-course dinner, which would usually cost £79.

With this offer two people get the following:

-A starter each such as scallops served on a celeriac and saffron purée, or pan-fried chicken livers served on a parmesan mash with red onion gravy
-A main course each such as venison braised with wild mushrooms, shallots, herbs and Coniston Ale, or grilled fillet of sea bass with a potato rosti
-A dessert each such as orange crème brûlée or white chocolate cheesecake

Alternatively, for £50 instead of £104, two people can tuck into five courses, which include all of the above plus a soup or sorbet and a cheese course.

Set within an acre of parkland, this Grade-II Regency manor is a 15-minute walk from Windermere and 10 minutes from the centre of Ambleside.
