The Deal

Hertfordshire Life praises the "imaginative touches" given to the food at "classic country pub", the White Horse Hotel in Hertingfordbury. Two Travelzoo subscribers can now dine on a 3-course meal, with a glass of bubbly each, for £35 instead of £82.40 at this 15th-century inn.

Saving up to 58% on the usual price, this deal allows guests to choose three courses from the restaurant's à la carte menu, plus a glass of bubbly each.

Although the menu is subject to change, here's an idea of what you'll get:

- Any starter each, such as crab and crayfish cocktail, or smoked Scottish salmon with chive scrambled egg and cucumber dressing
- Any main course each, with options including char-grilled rib-eye steak with roasted tomato, sautéed mushrooms and hand cut chips, or roasted rump of lamb, roast garlic mash and sweet pea and broad bean broth
- Any dessert each, such as white chocolate and whiskey cheesecake with orange compote, or vanilla crème brûlée with shortbread fingers

Travelzoo has also negotiated a deal for four people to take up this dining offer for £65 (just £16.25 a head), saving almost £100 on the usual price.

You could eat outside in the sunny garden or in the recently refurbished dining room.

This offer is valid for lunch or dinner, seven days a week, until 23 December.

The rural village of Hertingfordbury is easily reached from the A414, and is only a 10-minute drive from the centre of Hertford.
