food excellent and good value, male staff really nice, restaurant needs decorating and the chandeliers need cleaning and bulbs replacing, its a shame they don't spruce the place up as that was the only disappointment.

Despite the above statement, the food was excellent, the staff were friendly, helpful, and very welcoming. We would go back again.

Unfortunately the toilets are in desperate need of cleaning and decorating, not what you would expect in an establishment such as this. Really let the place down, but wouldn't take much to sort out.

The food was good... No fault there apart from being overpriced. Our waitress was extremely pleasant and helpful.

The seating area that we sat in had large pieces of leather worn off or cut out and just placed on the top of the well worn padding. The size was approx 9' x 9' on two sides of our seating area. Very shabby, And I don't mean shabby chic! I think it was extremely over priced! We eat in some very nice places, but that wasn't one if them! The food was nice but not with the £127 price tag which ultimately were for four starters and four desserts! Some beer and some wine. I drank water! We also were rang and asked to change our booking time to two hours earlier. While we obliged my friend asked would we have to leave the table. We were told no not at all. Guess what we were asked to vacate the table. We had just ordered desserts and the person who asked us to move wasn't very happy. We travelled quite a distance really to go there and expected much more, oh and if you pay on your card for the tip which is cheekily added to your bill, Your waitress doesn't get it all it's gets split 50/50

It was tastefully decorated and the ambience was nice. I think it would be a lovely place to meet in the evenings as I suspect there would be a good atmosphere if it was busy. We made an 80 mile round trip to try this restaurant and may have given it another try if it had been closer to home.

My main meal was really disappointing. My husband and I had lightly curried parsnip soup to start, which was very nice. My husband said his meal was lovely - it was a vegetarian sweet potato meal which he enjoyed very much. I had beer battered fish and skin on chips, which looked lovely when delivered to other tables but I suspect that mine had been out for a while and reheated because the batter appeared to have been crisp and then gone soggy. The chips also looked well done and crispy but the crispy bits had gone soft too. The bell in the kitchen had been rung several times but no-one responded to it. No-one came to check whether our meal was alright and we waited 20 minutes before attracting the waiter's attention to ask him for the bill and to collect our plates. The place itself was very cold.

The food was very good and I enjoyed the cocktails.

Parking is a bit difficult in the area directly in front of the restaurant; there is a large step to enter but it is managable, however the restarant has only upstairs toilets, with no access for wheelchair users/ people with limited mobility.
