The Small Print

This voucher is valid for one person and includes one Introduction Activity Half-Day birds of prey experience, including tea or coffee and a slice of cake. Must be used in one visit. Valid seven days a week until 11 July. Subject to availability. All equipment is provided. Participants must be over 14 years old. Spectators are not allowed. Advance booking is required. 24 hours' notice is required for any changes to your booking. There is no limit to the number of vouchers that can be purchased per person, or as gifts. Failure to turn up leads to forfeiture. Cannot be combined with any other offer. No cash value or cash back. This experience will take place from 9:45am-1pm, and in groups of up to 20.

The Deal

Get up close and personal with magnificent birds of prey at the Birds of Prey Centre in rural Bedfordshire for £18. Normally £78, this 3-hour experience gives you the chance to handle, watch and learn about owls, hawks and falcons.

Located in the grounds of the Shuttleworth Estate, the Birds of Prey Centre is home to more than 200 species including owls, hawks, eagles, falcons, kites, vultures and pelicans.

To start, you will meet a trained falconer and other members of your group over tea and a slice of cake. This will be followed by a short tour of the centre to see the many different species of birds.

Time will then be spent handling various types of owls from around the world, such as the little owl, barn owl, long-eared owl and tawny owl. Then, under the careful supervision of your falconer, you will receive a demonstration of how to fly the birds, before flying the owls, a harris hawk or a Chilean eagle yourself.

The experience will end at 1pm, but Travelzoo subscribers are welcome to stay at the centre for the rest of the day.
