When can I go?
Saturday arrivals until 22 December; 11-March-30 November, 2014. Half-board and full-board options are not available on 24-25, 31 December. Mid-season stays from 16-31 January; 21 February-10 March; 1-31 August are an extra £10 per studio, per night.
The 4-star St George Palace, in southwest Bulgaria, is ideally positioned 700 metres from the Bansko gondola to take you up to the slopes. There's also a free shuttle bus during the ski season from the hotel to the gondola and into Bansko town centre -- the first leaves at 8am, running every 30 minutes thereafter.
There's a restaurant serving local and international dishes, as well as two bars, including the Sky Bar with mountain views.
The ski season runs from December until mid-April and Bansko offers 70 kilometres of downhill runs, five kilometres of cross-country skiing tracks, ice skating and a healthy selection of après-ski bars. Once the snow has melted, the mountain is a haven of hiking, golf, white-water rafting and horse riding.
