Hillthwaite, Windermere was built in 1899 and is between the towns of Bowness and Windermere, with views of Britain’s largest lake. It has a lounge with a log fire, a heated indoor swimming pool, a sauna and a steam room, as well as free parking and Wi-Fi.
The on-site restaurant uses a range of local produce in dishes such as roasted chicken breast with mushroom risotto and butternut squash velouté, and roasted venison haunch with horseradish mashed potato.
Local attractions include William Wordsworth’s former home, Dove Cottage, and the World of Beatrix Potter Attraction. Cruises on Windermere depart regularly from nearby Bowness.
