The Daily Telegraph praises Lisbon's "maritime magic" and "simple charm". But if sunset-lit evenings on the city's revamped waterfrontaren't reason enough to visit, then this luxury stay should be: rooms at the Corinthia Hotel Lisbom are now available from £54 (65€) per night -- up to half the usual price.
Valid for Superior Rooms every day until the end of December as part of Corinthia's 2013 Europe sale, this deal is based on a 2-night minimum stay. Other room types are also discounted by 50%.
You may need to be flexible with your dates to get the best price, although we did find good availability on peak July-August dates.
This hotel -- described as "elegant" by Condé Nast Johansens -- is in Lisbon's financial district with views of Monsanto Forest Park, close to shops and museums and with good transport links. On-site facilities include a swimming pool with a retractable roof and a solarium with deck chairs. There's also a spa, a gym and a relaxation area (free to guests). The hotel's Típico Restaurant serves traditional Portuguese cuisine.
