We've found a stay at an award-winning luxury resort on Croatia's Dalmatian Coast for half the usual price. Named Croatia's Leading Hotel for two years running at the World Travel Awards (2008-2009), Le Méridien Lav, Split, is offering bed-and-breakfast stays with a sea view for a tempting £85 per night, per room.
Here's what you get:
The offer is valid for stays from 1-30 April with a minimum of two nights. Alternatively, stay from 1 May-30 June for £109 per night.
The 5-star Méridien Lav is five miles south of Split, overlooking an 800-metre private beach. From its elevated position, guests can take in views of the city, the Adriatic Sea and surrounding islands.
Split is built around a UNESCO World Heritage Site -- the ruins of Diocletian's Palace -- and "with its seafront cafés, ancient alleyways and shouting stallholders, it is one of the Mediterranean's most compelling cities", according to Rough Guides. From here you can catch a ferry or a catamaran to nearby islands such as Brač, home to the locally renowned Zlatni Rat beach.
Not available on 23-25 April; 22-25 May; 2-8, 1, 24-27, 30 June.
