Budapest was rated "top choice for an economical city break" by The Daily Telegraph in 2011 and this deal from the brand-new Park Inn by Radisson demonstrates why. For £42 (49€) per room, per night (with a 2-night minimum) the offer saves up to 55% on the usual rate and includes an upgrade and daily breakfast.
This 4-star hotel, which opened in December 2012, is situated on the Pest side of the Danube, near Margaret Island. It has a restaurant, serving both Hungarian and international cuisine, and a lobby bar -- Travelzoo subscribers receive a 10% discount in both.
The first seven bookings on each date will receive a free upgrade to a Business Friendly Room (pictured), which has free Wi-Fi and is slightly larger than the Standard Room.
This offer is valid for Friday- and Saturday-night stays until 31 May. Sunday-to-Thursday stays are available for an additional £8 (10€) per room.
There's a Metro station and bus station 500 metres from the hotel, providing transport to the city centre in around 15 minutes.
Travelzoo tip: Gundel House restaurant near the city park offers a Sunday brunch for £18.50 (6,400Ft) per person, including a bloody Mary or a glass of fizz. It's something of an institution in Budapest and is worth booking if you are there on a Sunday.
Not available on 7-10, 14-18, 29 March-1 April; 3-8, 13-20 May.
