Search for Hotels
Here are a few of the hotel chains and travel sites we search for the best deals...
Where to Stay in Singapore?
Singapore is by no means a budget destination. Many of its hotels are expensive and are tailored towards well-heeled travellers. However if you are looking for a cheap hotel deal, they do exist, but it is prudent to book well ahead as they often get booked up in advance. Many of the cheaper accommodation is situated in Little India and the Arab Quarter where you can wander through markets and shops selling colourful fabrics and exotic spices.
There is a large concentration of four- and five-star hotel options on and nearby Orchard Road, which are well situated for some of Singapore’s best shopping malls and complexes. Chinatown is home to more individual, boutique-style hotels and is conveniently located near the financial district.
The bars and restaurants along the Singapore River and Boat Quay are popular with tourists and there are some good high-end accommodation options in the area.
Singapore Accommodation Options
Singapore has accommodation ranging from international hotel chains offering five-star comforts and services, to more individual but equally luxurious boutique hotels. The excellent service and attention to detail in Singapore’s high-end hotels means that they are widely considered to be some of the best in the world.
There are also midrange hotels offering comfortable rooms and a decent range of facilities, often including a restaurant or coffee shop.
Budget options are harder to find in Singapore, but there are several youth hostels which offer a range of facilities. Also more affordable are Singapore’s guesthouses, which are often the choice of backpackers and travellers attempting to do Singapore on a shoestring.

Transport in Singapore
A taxi from Changi Airport to the city takes approximately 30 minutes. There is also a public bus service linking the city and airport. This usually takes about an hour. It is also possible to take a train from the Changi Airport MRT station. Singapore's MRT (Mass Rapid Transit) is spotlessly clean and efficient. Singapore's taxis are metered and also provide good value for money.
