Where to Stay in Perth?

In the city centre of Perth you will find most of the standard range of quality hotels but also some nice little treats for those looking for something special. Up-market hotels, smaller motels, bed and breakfast establishments, and budget accommodation can be found, in the city, by the sea and on the fringes of the hills. The main concentration of accommodation is in the city centre, and its neighboring suburbs of Scarborough and Fremantle. Just two streets from the spectacular Swan River is Adelaide Terrace - the city's primary hotel district. Just east of the central business district, there are also a number of high quality hotels.

The north is home to the shopping malls of Hay and Murray Streets, as well as a number of very comfortable, interesting and guest-friendly hotels. Just outside of Perth you will find Fremantle which offers a range of high quality hotels of which many are still in the well-kept colonial style. Just north of Perth is Scarborough which is famous for the city's best swimming and surfing beaches. For a nice get-away try Rottness Island which offers nice beach accommodations.

Perth Accommodation Options

In the Adelaide Terrace area you will find the Sheraton Perth Hotel and the Novotel Langley. The luxurious Hyatt Regency and the Duxton Hotel are also just around the corner. Just east of the central business district, there are a number of high quality hotels, including the Park Inn. The comfortable Rydges Perth Hotel and the almost hidden Mercure Hotel are more affordable nearby properties. Whilst the reasonably priced King's Perth Hotel and the Sebel of Perth make up an excellent choice of accommodation in the area. In the northern part of the city there are the shopping malls of Hay and Murray Street. Lots of comfortable and guest-friendly accommodation choices are around that area like the Holiday Inn and the Hotel Ibis. For something historical, try the Victorian comfort and charm of The Melbourne, and for those who want more than a hotel room, the West End Quest Apartments are the best choice.

Perth Hotel Recommendations?

Stay at the Rendezvous Observation City Hotel right on Scarborough beach for the best views of Perth's surfers and for a nice alternativ outside of the city centre. If you want to stay in Perth's south, Fremantle, try the unique colonial experience with Fremantle Colonial Accommodation that offers accommodation inside the grounds of the Fremantle Prison. Rottnest Lodge is the best option of accomocation choices on Rottnest Island.

Transport in Perth

There is no public transportation system serving the airport and Perth city. There are several private bus companies offering cheap rides from the airport to the city centre and to the main hotels. There is also a public bus that runs every hours from Perth airport to the city centre. Perth has a central public transport organisation called Transperth which operates buses, trains and ferries. Cycling is a great way to explore Perth and there are many bicycle routes around the city and its environs.
