Where to Stay in Orlando?

Orlando has a huge choice of places to stay, from cheap hotels and hostels to deluxe resort hotels. There are numerous hotels in Downtown Orlando, but if you are in the area for the theme parks, there are more convenient locations, including on-site hotels. As a rule of thumb, you are more likely to find budget accommodation away from the theme parks. There is accommodation clustered along Highway 192 in Kissimmee. Universal Orlando, which is located south of Downtown Orlando has three themed hotels. There are also many luxurious hotels and resorts in the nearby International Drive area, also known as “I-Drive”. Further south, at the Walt Disney World resort in Lake Buena Vista there is a choice of more than 30 hotels and resorts. Not far from Disney World there are further places to stay in the Lake Buena Vista area. If you are looking for the cheapest hotel deals it helps if you can be flexible with dates and travel outside of school holidays. The busy times coincide with Easter, the summer holidays and Christmas.

Orlando Accommodation Options

After Las Vegas, Orlando has the highest concentration of hotels in the country. Consequently there is accommodation to suit all budgets and it is often possible to find cheap hotel deals. There are numerous hotel and motel chains and some of these provide excellent value for money. Even the most affordable often have swimming pools, while they don’t all have restaurants. Some of the chain options are fairly basic, while some of the larger international chains offer excellent facilities and first-class service. Orlando’s resort-style accommodation is usually at the upper end of this scale, while bed and breakfast accommodation offers a more personal alternative to the larger hotels and chains. Suite hotels are also popular, generally offering more space than standard hotel rooms and often with kitchenettes and a living area. Also hugely popular in Orlando are self-catering holiday homes. These offer the chance to save money on meals out, and are a particularly good choice for families.

Orlando Hotel Recommendations?

The Radisson Hotel Orlando-Lake Buena Vista is located a quarter mile from Walt Disney World. There is a complimentary shuttle service to Universal Studios Orlando and Walt Disney World Resort. Facilities include an outdoor pool, poolside bar and complimentary high-speed internet access. The Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress is located in the Lake Buena Vista area and has a golf course, racquet club, a 21-acre lake with watersports and a lagoon swimming pool.

Transport in Orlando

Orlando has two main airports, Orlando International Airport (MCO) and Orlando Sanford International Airport (SFB). There are car rental companies at both of these airports. There is also a reliable bus service that covers much of the Orlando area, as well as several companies offering shuttle services between the major attractions and hotels.
