Where to Stay in Darwin?
Finding hotel deals in Darwin is relatively easy, as it’s fairly compact. Many of its attractions are just a short, pleasant walk or taxi ride from the centre and there are plenty of accommodation options if you’re happy to explore. Running alongside the Bicentennial Park, hotels can offer outstanding views of the harbour, many at prices that won’t break the bank. Mitchell Street, just behind The Esplanade, is where you’ll find Darwin’s pubs, clubs and restaurants. There are plenty of activities to take part in along the waterfront – swimming, fishing and feeding the fish are all popular pastimes. Accommodation in the suburbs is also only a short bike ride away, and you’ll find plenty of plenty of peaceful hotels near the Botanic Gardens and more expensive resorts overlooking the exclusive Cullen Bay marina.
Darwin Accommodation Options
From large international chains, mid-range hotels and managed apartments to lively hostels and peaceful resorts, there are hotel deals in Darwin for all tastes and budgets. Darwin’s city centre offers the widest choice of places to stay. This is where you’ll find Darwin’s only true 5-star hotel, the Crowne Plaza Darwin, amid many mid-range hotels.
On the Esplanade, three and four-star hotels and resorts nestle behind palm-fringed gardens, while further out the select Cullen Bay resort offers sanctuary from the bustle of the city centre.
If you’re travelling on a budget, there are plenty of backpackers’ hostels and budget hotels to choose from, both in the city centre and closer to Darwin Airport. Serviced apartments are another option – waterfront and rainforest apartments are some of the alternatives.
