Where to Stay in Dalaman?
Where you choose to stay in Dalaman largely depends on what kind of holiday you prefer. Turkey’s Turquoise Coast has spectacular natural features including pine-covered mountains, lakes and lagoons. It has bustling beach resorts which are famed for their nightlife, as well as picturesque villages and more sophisticated coastal resorts with yacht-filled marinas. Many of the main coastal resorts are popular package-holiday destinations and accommodation gets busy in the summer months. While last-minute deals do crop up, some of the best holiday and hotel deals can be secured by booking in advance. Marmaris is one of the coast’s most popular and developed resorts. It has accommodation – including good budget options – to suit all pockets. Stay here for nightlife and a huge choice of restaurants. Fethiye, another popular resort in the region, has an island-scattered bay and is a good base for exploring ancient sites including tombs, fortresses and an excavated Roman theatre. Around 15kms from here is Olu Deniz, which has a lagoon and seafront promenade that is home to numerous bars and restaurants. Dalaman has many other key tourist resorts and attractions including Kas, Olu Deniz, Dalyan and Gocek.
Dalaman Accommodation Options
Turkey’s Dalaman region offers visitors a large choice of accommodation to suit all budgets, from cheap hotels, guesthouses and pensions to upscale beach resorts and boutique hotels. Pensions and guesthouses, which are often family-run, are usually the most affordable options. On the whole, they tend to be quite basic, as do the cheapest hotels in the region. Self-catering apartments are available in many of the beach resorts. Their facilities vary, but they often have air-conditioning and use of a shared swimming pool. Apartments are especially popular with families and small groups. There are also numerous beach resorts strung along the Turquoise Coast. Many of these have extensive amenities including bars, restaurants and impressive leisure facilities. Dalaman also has more unique accommodation options including boutique and spa hotels.
