Search for Hotels
Here are a few of the hotel chains and travel sites we search for the best deals...
Where to Stay in Boston?
There are plenty of 4-star and 5-star hotels along the waterfront and in Boston’s Beacon Hill neighbourhoods, and securing a cheap hotel deal here is often down to luck. But these areas also offer quainter, inn-style and boutique hotels. Staying outside the city centre in one of Boston’s suburbs such as Cambridge (home to Harvard & MIT) or Brookline will give you access to a broader range of discount hotels.
Many of the hotels near the water, Boston Common and in the Beacon Hill area will command the highest prices, but the views on to the park or harbour and convenience of the location might make it worth paying a little extra. The Bunker Hill area is across the water from Boston city centre, but can offer great views of downtown Boston.
Hotels in the downtown area are handy for the waterfront, aquarium, City Hall, Faneuil Hall and Boston Common. West Fens is close to Fenway Park, Boston University, Northeastern University and the Museum of Fine Arts.
Boston Accommodation Options
All the major US hotel chains have at least one outpost in Boston. There is a Ritz-Carlton, a Hyatt, a Four Seasons and a Hilton (don't wait for last-minute hotel deals here). There are also boutique chains popping up around the city Kimpton’s Nine Zero and the Langham, Boston are just a couple of examples.
Mid-range hotel chains such as Holiday Inn, Residence Inn and Hampton Inn have properties scattered around the city, generally offer the cheapest hotel deals. There are also hostels and guesthouses throughout the Boston area. Cambridge and East Cambridge are good options, but can get expensive when terms begin and end at Harvard University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
Boston Hotel Recommendations?
Boston's 'Original Boutique Hotel', The Lennox, is one of the most popular hotels in the city, located in the Back Bay. For a stay with all the trimmings, try the 5-star Four Seasons Boston on Boston Common. The Oasis Guest House is a more budget-friendly accommodation option
Transport in Boston
Boston's Logan Airport (BOS) is about 30 minutes away from the city centre, and is served by taxis, a public bus service and private hire cars and limousines. Many larger hotels offer shuttle service. You can also take the T from Logan into downtown. Boston is a small and easily walkable city, for longer journeys, the T offers quick public transportation.
