Where to Stay in Blackpool?
It is said that Blackpool has more beds for tourists than the entire of Portugal. The veracity of this claim aside, it is certainly true that there are plenty of accommodation options to choose from. With thousands of hotels and guesthouses in Blackpool, it is usually possible to find a cheap hotel or last-minute deal. However, there are times when it is wise to book ahead, particularly during the school holidays and when the Illuminations are switched on.
The Blackpool seafront is packed with places to stay, from luxurious hotels to more basic guesthouses offering bed and breakfast accommodation. If a sea view is important, head to the Promenade. Accommodation away from the seafront may be a better choice if you are looking for peace and quiet, as the area does get very busy, particularly in the summer. There are plenty of guesthouses and hotels to choose from in the streets further back from the sea.
Blackpool Accommodation Options
There is accommodation to suit all budgets in Blackpool. From small and friendly family-run guesthouses to four- and five-star international chains and boutique hotels. The choice of accommodation leads to some fairly competitive prices, meaning it is often possible to get a cheap hotel deal in Blackpool. If you are looking for good value, try one of the town's guesthouses. Room rates typically include a cooked English breakfast.
Also increasingly popular, especially for longer stays, are self-catering holiday apartments. These offer the chance to save money on meals out, and are a particularly good choice for families. There are also several caravan parks just outside of the town. At the more luxurious end of the spectrum, Blackpool has some extravagant boutique hotels and high-end chains like the Hilton.
