Where to Stay in Alicante?
Alicante has hotels and accommodation types to suit all pockets. There are a large number of hotels near the seafront and harbour, many of which offer easy access to the beach.
Of these, a good selection offer all-inclusive facilities. Many of these also have Mediterranean views, good family facilities, restaurants and swimming pools.
While these are the most central areas, there are hotels and resorts scattered all the way along the coast and these can prove to be more peaceful, especially in the summer when the centre of Alicante gets particularly busy.
Alicante Accommodation Options
Alicante is a hugely popular holiday destination and there is accommodation to suit all budgets and tastes, whether you are looking for a family-friendly resort, or a cheap hotel in a prime location for Alicante’s buzzing nightlife. There is a wide choice of beachfront resorts offering a range of different board options, from room-only to all-inclusive, depending on your preferences. Many of these have impressive facilities including a choice of restaurants and bars, swimming pools and gymnasiums. Some even have golf courses.
Also hugely popular in Alicante are self-catering holiday apartments. These offer the chance to save money on meals out, and are a particularly good choice for families. If you are on a budget, consider staying at one of Alicante’s pensiones, which are independent, often family-run hotels which represent good value for money. The city’s hostales are also a good choice for travellers on a shoestring. For those seeking an outdoor experience, there are some excellent campsites on the Costa Blanca. Although there are plenty of hotels to choose from in Alicante it is sensible to book ahead as they do get busy, particularly in the summer.

Transport in Alicante
Alicante Airport is located 9km southwest of the city and is the jumping off point to Spain’s Costa Blanca. Depending on traffic, the journey takes between 15-30 minutes. There is a taxi stand at the airport and there are also regular buses to the city.
A tram runs from Alicante to Denia stopping at beaches and resorts along the coast.
