The original Victorian part of this 68-room hotel was once the home of 3-times Conservative prime minister Stanley Baldwin. It is set in 23 acres of grounds with manicured lawns and mature trees. It is just five miles from Kidderminster and is a convenient base from which to explore the local area.
The West Midland Safari & Leisure Park, which features a drive-through safari and has around 600 animals to observe, plus various rides and attractions for children, is around a 10-minute drive from the hotel. With its walking and cycling trails, plus the Go Ape tree-top adventure course, Wyre Forest, which is around six miles from the hotel, is another popular draw for families.
The hotel has plenty of facilities to keep guests occupied too. There is a leisure club with an indoor swimming pool, a sauna and a poolside Jacuzzi. There's also a gym, outdoor tennis courts and a squash court. The leisure club is open to non-residents too. The hotel has a range of meeting and function spaces, and it's also licensed to hold civil ceremonies.
The hotel's restaurant offers a brasserie-style menu of British classics and international dishes. There's a terrace for al fresco dining, and a comfortable bar and lounge with a separate menu of light bites.
A few of the bedrooms, all of which have free Wi-Fi, are in the original Victorian house, but most are situated in a modern building. Superior doubles have additional features including separate lounge areas. There are 33 family rooms.
